What is Lent?
Lent constitutes 40 days leading up to Easter. It is a time to prepare for the death and resurrection of Jesus. The 40 days are symbolic of the time Jesus spent in the wilderness just after he was baptized. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and ends the day before Easter on Holy Saturday.

Why is purple the color used in church during lent?
ReplyDeleteUsually the color Purple is for Royalty and Jesus is our King
ReplyDeletePurple is also a color that reminds us of the sadness and mourning....of Jesus' pain and suffering.
