The Season of Lent

What is Ash Wednesday?

Ash Wednesday gets its name from the practice of placing ashes on the foreheads of Christians as a sign of repentance. In ancient times, ashes were rubbed into the skin as a sign of mourning. The ashes symbolize our sins and faults.

Do you believe that we should have ashes put on our foreheads for Ash Wednesday? What are the pros and cons of having ashes put on your forehead?

The Season of Lent

What is Lent?
Lent constitutes 40 days leading up to Easter. It is a time to prepare for the death and resurrection of Jesus. The 40 days are symbolic of the time Jesus spent in the wilderness just after he was baptized. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and ends the day before Easter on Holy Saturday.

If you have any questions about Lent, post them below and we will try to get an answer back to you.
